termites depending on what
part of the world you live in.

learn more about your area.
Bible Verse Copywork
Older children can work on handwriting skills with this
bible copywork sheet for the verse John 3:3.  Talk with
the children about God's kingdom, and how Jesus is
preparing a place for us in heaven.
Termite Appetite
These minibooks are for
writing about what
termites eat, and about
the mushroom gardens
that they cultivate in their
mounds.
This page is full of Free Resources you can use for
making your
Termite Lapbook.  I've also included
custom Minibooks that we made for our Termite
Lapbook. For our Termite Lapbook we wanted to learn
a few different things about termites  You can come up
with your own objectives for the study, but here are a
couple of ideas....
  • Where do Termites live?
  • What are some of the different
    kinds of Termites?
  • What do Termites eat?
  • What is the relationship between
    People and Termites?
There are a few books that will work well with your Termite Lapbook we especially liked...

"Through a Termite City"
by Carole Telford

This book was very informative and had a
great visual for the inside of a termite mound.

You can learn more about each book, and see a "Used" price by clicking on the individual titles.
Termite Craft
We made these little termites with contact paper and
construction paper. First I let the children tear up bits and
pieces of cream and brown construction paper. We talked about how termites eat wood and
paper and other various fibers. Then we stuck the bits of paper to a sheet of contact paper
(sticky side up) Once they filled up the contact paper, we put another sheet on top(sticky side
down). Then I cut out termite shapes from the contact paper, and the children glued on legs.
They turned out pretty cute and kind of see-through like termites.
Termite Craft
Termite Caste Flap Book
This is a Flap book where children can write about the
different roles the termites play as part of the colony.
Termite Coloring Page
This is a coloring page of
a Termite mound.
Children can color it in,
and if you have it glue
sand over the mound.
Termite Bible Verse
This is a Termite Kingdom
with a queen.  The verse is
from John 3:3.  Glue the
bottom and the tips of the
mound to the lapbook, so you
can create a pocket for the
queen to slide into.
Termite Label Sheet
This is a label sheet for a
solider termite.  Children
can write in the name of
the parts, or you can print
them while they dictate.
Termite Coloring Page
We used this cute coloring
page as a puzzle.  Let children
color it in, then cut it into
pieces for them to put back
together.
