Lapbook Lessons
This page is full of resources you can use to make
your
Space Shuttle Lapbook.  I've included some
custom Space Shuttle minibooks that I've made,
along with numerous links to useful resources on
the web.  This lapbook is geared towards Pre-K
and early elementary children, but if you have older
children you could use the resources as a starting
point on what to include in your lapbook.
  • What is a Space Shuttle?
  • What are the different parts?
  • Where have we been with them?
  • What is it like to be out in space?
Space Shuttle Lapbook Video

Here is a video depicting how you can make your own Space Shuttle
Lapbook. We did a simple
Small Pocket fold, and then added the
various wings and such to make it look like a space shuttle.  This
makes the lapbook a little more fun, but it's just a suggested way to
make it, you can easily use these minibooks in a normal lapbook.

We checked out a ton of Space
Shuttle  books from the library.
The ones we used the most were

"Living on a Space Shuttle"
by Carmen Bredeson

"The Young Astronomer"
by Chris Mullin

Be sure and check the video
section of your library as well, there
are lots of children's movies about
Space Programs, and they're very
entertaining as well as educational.

482650: Space Shuttle Foam Glider with Launcher Space Shuttle Foam Glider with Launcher
By Paul K. Guillow, Inc.

Outdoor fun for kids 8 and up, styro Space Shuttle glider provides hours of fun and never goes out of style! Catapult launch with large elastic, included; launch handle; realistic full color details. Polystyrene; polybagged. 12" long; illustrated instructions included.
This is a craft we did
for learning about
the different parts of
a Space Shuttle.
The Lapbook itself is
the Orbiter, and
using a 2 liter pop
bottle, and 2 smaller
water bottles we
made a fuel tank and
the rocket boosters.
This was a nice and
easy way to visualize
what the actual parts
of a Shuttle look like.
