Lapbook Lessons
This page is full of resources you can use to make
your
Killer Whale Lapbook.  I've included some
custom Orca minibooks that I've made, along with
numerous links to useful resources on the web.
This lapbook is geared towards Pre-K and early
elementary children, but if you have older children
you could use the resources as a starting point on
what to include in your lapbook.
  • What are Killer Whales? (i.e.dolphins)
  • What is another name for Killer
    Whales?
  • What do Killer Whales Eat?
  • How do they Communicate?
  • What is the relationship between
    Killer Whales and People?
Killer Whale Lapbook Video

Here is a video depicting how you can make your own Killer Whale
Lapbook. We like to do ours with the Killer Whale Fill in the Blank
printed on cardstock and then taped across the top to create
additional space.  The answers to the minibooks are found in the
books we checked out from the library above.

We checked out a ton of Killer
Whale books from the library.  The
ones we used the most were

"Killer Whale (Natural World)"
by Mark Carwardine

"Keiko's Story"
by Linda Moore Kirth

My daughter really loved to learn
about Keiko, because we watched
the Free Willy Movies, and she
liked reading that Keiko came to
our Oregon Aquarium.

30745: Draw Write Now, Book 4: The Polar Regions, The Arctic, The Antarctic Draw Write Now, Book 4: The Polar Regions, The Arctic, The Antarctic
By Marie Hablitzel / Barker Creek

Explore the world with, Draw Write Now, a collection of drawing and handwriting lessons developed by an elementary school teacher and tested by over 800 children. The contents include: Colorful easy to follow drawing lessons. Text for practicing handwriting. Theme related questions, answers and book lists. A child friendly format. And countless ideas to spark children's imagination and creativity!
We use the Draw, Write Now series to work on art
and handwriting skills. This was the picture Sissy
drew from that book, she learned how to draw Killer
Whales, and made this as a cover for her lapbook.
