families.  You can come up with your own objectives
for the study, but here are a couple of ideas....
  • Who is in my Immediate Family?
  • What about my Maternal and
    Paternal relatives?
  • Is there anything interesting or
    unique about my Family?
85972X: Me and My Family Tree Me and My Family Tree
By Joan Sweeney / Random House, Inc

In Me and My Family Tree, a young girl uses simple language, her own childlike drawings, and diagrams to explain how the members of her family are related to each other and to her. Clear, colorful, detailed artwork and a fill-in family tree in the back make the parts of the family-from siblings to grandparents to cousins-understandable to very young readers.

By Nancy White Carlstrom / Simon & Schuster Trade Sales

Jesse Bear experiences the excitement of a family reunion filled with grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins and lots of food, games, and storytelling.
309092: The Ballad of Matthew"s Begats: An Unlikely Royal Family Tree, Picture Book and CD The Ballad of Matthew's Begats: An Unlikely Royal Family Tree, Picture Book and CD
By Andrew Peterson / Thomas Nelson

The Gospel of Matthew begins with listing Jesus' linage starting with Abraham, but who says all those "begats" aren't fun to read? Christian recording artist Andrew Peterson turned this list into a playful song on his Behold the Lamb of God Christmas musical. You can now sing and read along to the lyrics that not only list Jesus' ancestors, but also reveals to children why the "begats" are extremely important. Both the story and song bridge the Old and New Testaments, showing Jesus' birth as part of God's plan from the very beginning. Included are interesting "Did You Know?" elements featured throughout the book to give kids fun facts about this Unlikely Royal Family Tree. Also includes a CD of the song. Recommended for ages 5 and up.
