your
Inuit Lapbook  (or Eskimo Lapbook)  I've
included some custom  minibooks that I've made,
along with numerous links to useful resources on
the web.  This lapbook is geared towards early
elementary children, but if you have older children
you could use the resources as a starting point on
what to include in your lapbook.
  • What was daily life like for Inuit
    tribes?  What about Modern day
    life?
  • Where is the "Arctic" and what is
    special about living there.
  • What other creatures and plants
can be found in the Arctic?
Inuit Lapbook Photo

For our cover artwork we made watercolor paintings
inspired by the beautiful illustrations in the book,
"My Arctic: 1, 2, 3"  Then we added in the names of
each animal as explained in the book.

Bring history alive as students explore the fascinating past by making the interactive projects in History Pockets. Students store the projects in easy-to-make construction paper pockets that are wonderful portfolios for assessment and display.

History Pockets - Native Americans, contains nine memorable discovery pockets. The introduction pocket gives an overview of the tribes in North America that are featured. The other pockets focus on food, clothing, shelter, and family life of eight Native American tribes.

We used a lot of books for our
studies on the Inuit tribes.  Most of
these books we picked up at the
library, and I've listed them all in our
partner store with descriptions on
what we enjoyed about them:

By Piet Prins / A. B. Publishing

Far north, where the sun shines only part of the year, Anak and his family live with the rest of their Eskimo tribe near the Coronation Gulf. Anak experiences both adventure and danger as he learns how to hunt seals, caribou, and walruses; travels to the land of white man; faces the threat of a bear attack; and accidentally drifts off to sea on an ice floe. As Anak confronts the challenges of Eskimo life, he learns important lessons about responsibility and dependence on God. For readers 8 years old and up. 115 pages.
