This page is full of Free Resources you can use for
making your
Dragonfly Lapbook.  I've also
included custom Minibooks that we made for our
Dragonfly Lapbook. For our Dragonfly Lapbook we
wanted to learn a few different things about
dragonflies.  You can come up with your own
objectives for the study, but here are a couple of
ideas....
  • Where do Dragonflies live
  • What is the life cycle of a Dragonfly?
  • What is unique about the Dragonfly?
We read a lot of Dragonfly books for our Dragonfly Lapbook. Our favorites were

"Sir Small & the Dragonfly"
by Jane O'Conor

"One, Two, Three Jump"
by Penelope Lively
Dragonfly Craft

This is an adorable craft that doesn't take a lot ofmaterials.
One Pipe Cleaner,Seven Beads, (one large if you have it),Two googly eyes

Fold the pipe cleaner in half. String on one bead on one side of the pipecleaner, thread down to the
fold. (This will be the knot) String on four beads through both ends of th pipecleaner. Make wings on
both sides (Mom may need to help a bit) Thread a larger bead (if you have it) and then a regular sized
bead. Curl the ends of the pipecleaner. Glue eyes onto the top bead, and your good to go!
This is a little craft we did for our

the Popcicle stick and the children
picked out patterend paper to cut
the wings from. Then they glued
the wings on the back, and put on
some googly eyes.
