This page is full of Great Resources you can use for making your Ant Lapbook. You'll find some great links to free printables for making your insect lapbooks. For our Ant Lapbook we wanted to learn a few different things about ants. You can come up with your own objectives for the study, but here are a couple of ideas....

Fingerprint Ants: For our Ant Craft we decided to make fingerprint Ants. This was something I loved to do as a child (I had a copy of Ed Emberly's fingerprint book) and I knew my children would love to make the little creatures this way as well! We even decorated the cover of our Ant Lapbook with theses little guys, it was lots of fun and educational when it came time to add the correct amount of legs and antennae. You can also talk with children about the three parts of insects :Head, Thorax, Abdomen, and repeat them as you show them how to stamp their little ants.

I didn't really need to make any Minibooks for Ants because there were so many good resources on the web already! (Most of the other bugs in our Alphabugs lesson have custom Minibooks, Ants was just a common topic, so instead of designing yet another Ant lesson, we just used what was out there in the world wide web!
I got most of what we did for our Lapbook from Danielle's Place of Crafts and Activities, she has a free Consider the Ants Lapbook and corresponding lesson that you can use as well! Homeschool Share also has a free Ant Lapbook where you can print lots of free minibooks and read a thourogh lesson plan as well!
